Water network monitoring
VIK Yovkovtsi reduced water losses from 63% to 27% in three years, using 17,000 findy devices across more than 30 metering zones. This is the system they used.

You cannot plan without good information
Water is a fluid resource that is difficult to track effectively. Part of that is physical; leaks in mains, joints and service connections. Part of it is commercial; meters that under-register, connections that are not metered, and consumption that is never recorded.
63% → 27%
Water losses, reduced over three years. VIK Yovkovtsi · Bulgaria · since 2021.
The loggers at network points sit on reservoirs, pressure compensators, trunk mains and district inlets. Together with the consumer meters they close the circle.

Four devices, allocated by function
A water network is not one measurement problem. It is several, and they need different instruments.
Service Point
Reads consumption from the meter register. Three sensor variants cover practically every meter on the market.
Logger Pro
Two analogue and two digital inputs. Powers an ultrasonic flow meter directly. Can run off a turbine where mains power is absent.
Points with more than one sensor
LTE Logger 2× Digital IN
Two pulse inputs for meters with separate low-flow and high-flow registers.
Combined meters
LTE Counter + 4-20mA
Level (5 m or 10 m probes), pressure, or ultrasonic flow.
Single-sensor points
All four report over NB-IoT or LTE Cat M1 on an embedded SIM. No local gateway, no site network, no mains power.
Instruments from IoT engineers. Analysis from hydraulic engineers.
findy builds and manufactures the hardware. The analysis is QData, the software of our partner Qubiqo.
Qubiqo are hydraulic engineers. They know which measurements matter in a water network and what a reading actually means — which is a different discipline from building a device that survives five years in a chamber. Between the two companies the problem is covered at both ends.
1 · Device overview
Daily and weekly consumption, broken down by hour, with daily and weekly trends. Instantaneous flow and accumulated volume at 15-minute resolution.
2 · Correlation analysis
Compare consumers against each other, or a group of consumers against the revenue meter at the zone inlet. Where the gap between water supplied and water billed becomes a number rather than a suspicion.
3 · Anomaly alerts
Unusual consumption points to a leak. No consumption at all points to a technical fault or to tampering. Different signals, different crews dispatched.
Billing and API
Billing is integrated. Data is available over API for your existing systems. For European projects it is hosted within the European Union.
It works with the meters you already have
Service Point comes in three sensor variants. Between them they cover practically every meter in service. The meter is not modified and its metrological approval is unaffected.
Wehrle MODULARIS, Enevita, Sensus, Itron, Madalena. Reads the register directly — no pulse module, no modification.

Frequently asked
Which water meters does it work with?
Service Point comes in three sensor variants. SP-27 uses our own inductive sensor and reads the register directly on Wehrle MODULARIS, Enevita, Sensus, Itron and Madalena meters. SP-25 uses a Hall sensor for Teksan, Baylan and similar. SP-26 takes a pulse input and works with any meter that has a pulse output, including Diehl. Our inductive sensor does not work with Diehl meters, those are read through SP-26.
Do I have to replace my water meters?
No. Service Point mounts onto the meter you already have. The meter is not modified and its metrological approval is unaffected.
How long does the battery last?
Laboratory testing at 15-minute logging with one transmission per day indicates up to 16 years. The longest deployment currently in service has been running for 5 years and is still going. Actual life depends on signal strength at the installation point.
How long does installation take?
Three minutes per device. Installation is normally carried out by the utility’s own crews, with our support during rollout.
How often does it measure and report?
Logging interval from 30 seconds to 2 hours. Transmission interval from 30 seconds to 2 weeks. A common configuration for consumer metering is 15-minute logging with one transmission per day.
Where is the data stored?
For European projects, within the European Union.
Can it integrate with our billing system?
Yes. QData includes integrated billing, and data is available over API for integration with existing utility software. QData is the analytics software of our partner Qubiqo, who are hydraulic engineers specialising in water networks.
What happens if a device loses network coverage?
Readings are buffered on the device, up to 30,000 samples, and transmitted when the connection returns. No data is lost.
What is the minimum project size?
There is none. We have supplied single units and we have supplied 17,000.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on the scope of the project and is agreed with you directly. Tell us about your network and we will prepare a proposal.
What is the warranty?
One year. It is possible to purchase extended warranty options suited to your uses case.
How do we start?
With a pilot. Tell us which part of your network concerns you most and we will propose a scope, a timeline and the numbers we expect to produce.
