What is a drone emergency stop system?

A drone emergency stop system is a safety feature that immediately shuts down a drone to prevent collisions, injuries, or flyaways.

A drone flyaway is where a drone stops responding to the pilot’s commands. This can be due to signal interference, weather conditions, mechanical issues, or lost GPS tracking.

A loss of GPS signal can occur due to signal interference, physical obstructions or distance travelled. In these cases the internal navigation cannot lock on and the drone may drift off course.

This is an emergency feature to be used by commercial pilots or a fleet operations team in extreme cases. It is not a piece of the standard control suite.
